 2008 Medicare Changes

What does this mean for you?

The annual enrollment period is November 15 – December 31, 2007.  Remember to sign up for a Today’s Options plan within this time period for coverage that is effective January 1, 2008. 

Premium Information

  1. The Medicare Part B premium will be $96.40 each month.
Inpatient Care
  1. Original Medicare inpatient hospital care deductibles have changed for 2008.
    1. Days 1 – 60: an additional deductible of $1,024
    2. Days 61 – 90: $256 each day.
    3. Days 91 – 150: $512 each lifetime reserve day (lifetime reserve days can only be used once).
  2. Original Medicare skilled nursing facility deductibles have changed for 2008.
    1. You pay for each benefit period, following at least a 3-day covered hospital stay.
    2. Days 1 – 20: you pay $0 for each day.
    3. Days 21 – 100: you pay $128 for each day.
    4. There is a limit of 100 days for each benefit period.
Yearly Deductible

You pay a total of one $135 deductible based on selected individual services.
